Book South OC Massage Acupuncture
Acupuncture is an ancient form of Chinese medicine involving the insertion of solid filiform acupuncture needles into the skin at specific points on the body to achieve a therapeutic effect. No drug is injected. The needles alone create the beneficial effects of acupuncture.

Acupuncture is used to encourage natural healing, improve mood and energy, reduce or relieve pain and improve function of affected areas of the body. It is safe and effective and is often successfully used as an alternative to medications or even surgery. Relief is often obtained with acupuncture when traditional medical therapy has failed.

Book South OC Massage Chair Massage
This massage is fully clothed, seated forward in a specially made massage chair. It focuses on the back, neck, shoulders, head and arms, and addresses such things as headaches, low back pain, and overall muscle tension. It generally lasts from 10 to 20 minutes.

Book South OC Massage Deep Tissue Massage
Deep Tissue Massage is a technique that focuses on the deeper layers of muscle tissue. It aims to release the chronic patterns of tension in the body through slow strokes and deep finger pressure on the contracted areas, either following or going across the fibers of the muscles, tendons and fascia.

Deep tissue massage is used to release chronic muscle tension through slower strokes and more direct deep pressure or friction applied across the grain of the muscles not with the grain. Deep tissue massage helps to break up and eliminate scar tissue. Deep tissue massage usually focuses on more specific areas.

Book South OC Massage Hot Stone Massage
Hot stone massage is a variation on classic massage therapy. Heated smooth, flat stones are placed on key points on the body. The massage therapist may also hold the stones and use them to massage certain areas of the body.

Book South OC Massage Lymphatic Massage
Manual Lymph Drainage (MLD) is a very gentle type of massage therapy used to drain excess fluid from the body and improve the overall functioning of the lymphatic system. MLD is most commonly used to treat Lymphedema, which is characterized by the blockage of lymph nodes in the arms and legs. MLD is also a great way to detox the body.

Book South OC Massage Myofacial Release
Myofascial Release is a gentle therapy, consisting of a mixture of light stretching and massage work. This type of work often uses light to moderate traction and twisting strokes to apply the appropriate tension on the soft tissue, and to achieve a full reflex range of the muscle. This slow and subtle technique can be used to unblock fascia and muscle.

Book South OC Massage Neuromuscular Therapy
The therapist will locate the muscle spasms and then concentrate the hands-on treatment to this area by applying continuous pressure with their fingers, knuckles and elbows. The same pressure must be maintained for several seconds to encourage proper blood flow in the area. You may experience some muscle soreness following a neuromuscular therapy massage. However, typically the muscle soreness will disappear within a few days. This technique is usually incorporated with Swedish or Deep Tissue massage.
